I am Thankful

Posted by: Nichola Allen on: January 13, 2010

Hi Moms,

Are you thankful for what you have? Some may have less than others but the most important thing is family. There was a major earthquake that hit Haiti yesterday. It is complete devastation, buildings crumbled to the ground. The Presidential Palace has crumbled to a one story building. Moms and children are trapped under the rubble or worst dead. So let’s be thankful and try to think of a way you can help the Moms of Haiti. One of my principles beliefs in life is to help those who are in need

.The Moms and children of Haiti are in my heart.

Happy New Year- Top 10 New Year resolutions for Moms

Posted by: Nichola Allen on: January 5, 2010

  1. Don’t sweat the small stuff- Life is short…the most important stuff in life is family. Material things come and go, what’s important is….a healthy family, a loving spouse or partner, the look a love your child shows when you kiss them good night at bedtime.  So don’t sweat the messy house or the bad day on the job.
  2. Spend more time with your kids- Time with your children is the most important gift you can give your child. Building childhood memories is something your child will remember for the rest of their lives. Plan a special trip every once in while. Remember the key word is PLAN…it doesn’t have to be expensive, A day out at the museum or aquarium or a simple picnic at the park.
  3. Start something new- Become inspired…be inspired to open that new business, run the 1/2 mile marathon, travel to a new country, or help someone in need.
  4. Save money & Earn money- as Mother we can waste a lot of money! For example; we go to the groceries store to pick a few items, instead we leave with a cart full of extra stuff. Start with a groceries list, and force yourself to stick with it. Ask yourself before you check out, do I need this? The keyword for this year should be budget. Are your kids’ closets and dresser drawers bursting at the seams with clothes, toys and stuff they’ve outgrown? Sell it; you can make money by selling your kid’s extra stuff. Try eBay or you local kid’s consignment shops.
  5.  FIND TIME FOR YOURSELF
  6. FIND TIME FOR YOU SPOUSE
  7. Don’t worry about the Stereotypical supermoms- Be yourself…everyone mom is a supermom. Don’t worry about what you see in the movies or on TV.
  8. Pick a new family Hobby- for example…scrapbooking, cooking (baking), painting, bird watching, gardening, stamp collecting, coin collecting
  9. Focus on a healthy lifestyle for you and your kids
  10. HAVE FUN…ENJOY YOURCHILDS LAUGH, KISSES, AND SMILES. ENJOY 2010
